Synexus Clinical Research SA opens its first DXA facility to conduct an osteoporosis studyMinimize
In October 2007, CRC SA, now known as Synexus Clinical Research SA, opened its first DXA facility at its hub site at 178 Watermeyer Street, Meyerspark in Pretoria.  The DXA machine is used for measuring the bone density in patients.

1 in 3 women over the age of 50 suffer from a condition called osteoporosis where bones are less strong and more likely to break.  The bone desitometry scan (DEXA) measures the bone density (strength).

We believe that all women identified with osteoporosis would benefit from treatment and monitoring of their condition, this is often most easily done by taking part in a clinical research programme.
